(4,234 posts)to be the rule. Sort of like Alvin Greene winning the SC Dem primary with about 65% of the vote. Rather odd since nobody knew Greene from Adam. He never lifted a finger to campaign, paid for no yard signs, posters, decals. Nothing. He also had a pretty serious criminal record I believe. His opponent was a popular Dem and campaigned considerably to make sure of the results.
Where paper was used in the voting (hand-counted paper ballots), that is, absentee ballots, early voting, etc., the presumptive candidate won by about 65%. Where voting machines were used, Greene scored a smashing victory.
What would a 10-year-old kid conclude from these results?
Well if that 10-year-old were a member of the Dem party of SC, he would conclude that it was not worth the trouble to have a new election using paper ballots hand-counted. Democracy be damned. Too much trouble.
This is the problem and nobody in the higher echelons of the Dem Party gives a damn. Nobody.
