(3,247 posts)11. the anti-authoritarian "crowd" vs. the authoritarian cadre
I was just thinking this morning that the Sanders candidacy could help change the often-ugly dynamics at DU. How often have we seen disdainful references to progressives as a "crowd"-- the Snowdenista, Greenwald fan club, emoprog, etc. crowd? This always annoyed me in the past, because the disdain seemed directed by what looked more like a "cadre" of authoritarians, coordinating attacks on specific members, threadstalking, alertswarming, two-minute hating, etc. Party disciplinarians vs. the "unfaithful," targeted with particular scornful terms.
But they have a point. We ARE a crowd, and they're something else. If these reddit numbers are any indication, the unorganized and diverse "crowd" is finding its voice in Bernie.

Thanks. I just read he raised $1.5 million in 24 hours. Since his average donation was $40,

Great, Omaha. I gave week before last on his website, but I'll use your ActBlue link in the future.
