2. GATT/WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA are the engines of global corporate control.

The TPP is the next step in the corporate power grab -- it hands over nations that border on the Pacific to corporate control.

These trade agreements do much damage, but the worst thing about them is that they place corporations on an equal, or higher, basis than sovereign national governments. Most of the affected sovereign national governments are democratically elected, which means they serve the interests of, and are accountable to, their own people.

Without government protection, people are at the mercy of unelected, unaccountable corporate power.

These trade agreements allow corporations to plunder national resources, exploit citizens, override local laws, and run roughshod over environmental protections.

It is greed-driven barbarism. It must be stopped.
