Fellow Bernie Group: I do feel bad for their being sad, but there's no excuse for personally trashing Bernie supporters as if he had no right to run. Why can't they see how preposterous that is? (And he went waaay easier on her than she did on Obama - remember that pic sent around of him in the robes and headwrap? Etc.) He stuck to the issues and had better positions for the working class in the Midwest where she lost to him and then lost to tRump. Have any of us said "we told you so?" Or "all the polls had her even or losing to tRump with Bernie 10 points ahead, for the last couple months of the primary!" We could justifiably direct hostility at them! But no, we haven't! They think it's our fault that she lost?! And how ironic is it that the ones venting their spleen at us consider their position correct despite its very apparent disregard of weighty democratic principles (fairness, justice, voting integrity). All they seem to see and feel is an abomination. What is really sacrosanct in this situation?
How many hundreds of comments claimed we were sexist? Jeez, we're every bit as pro-feminist as they are. Or as some here have pointed out with respect to particular posts that may be characteristic (I have no way of knowing but I too wonder) antisemitism... or just blind devotion. And apparently the means justify the ends, including scorched earth for anyone who sees more value in the other position? Whatever it is, it is crudely hostile and reflects deeper personality issues, IMO. A few in particular.
I voted for Clinton, despite unhappiness (putting it mildly) about so many of her actions that conflicted with good ethics (which is my career field, BTW) and good democratic principles. It was a Bernie video that ultimately persuaded me that voting for her was the best move.
Let's hope maturity will prevail here on DU even though they will never see the truth as we see it.
