He *IS* a rich, white politician. Sanders has a reported Net Worth of $330,507, which puts him roughly $4k shy of the 70th percentile (greater net worth than 70% of ppl that age).

Calling him rich (or white) isn't an insult. It's fact. The man has more to his name than the vast majority of Americans- just because he isn't a billionaire doesn't change that fact. Comparing him to other politicians doesn't change that fact, either. It's false equivalency.

There is also the simple fact that belonging to the intersection of those two demographics affords people socioeconomic advantages that aren't shared by those outside of that group.

Being male doesn't hurt either.
