"Dear Sir or Madam,

I would respectfully suggest that Mr. Letterman consider Vermont Senator and presidential contender Bernie Sanders as a guest on one of Mr. Letterman’s remaining shows. Mr. Letterman is an icon of American culture, not just as an entertainer, but as a humane individual. At this critical juncture in American history, what better way to add to Mr. Letterman’s legacy than to spotlight an individual who has consistently championed the ordinary American, whatever his/her race, creed or cultural affiliation. Mr. Letterman can make a lasting contribution to the course that Americans will set in 2016.

I salute Mr. Letterman’s long career and I wish him all the best going forward."
