Bernie Sanders

(1,276 posts)I watched M$NBC a couple of weeks ago and noticed that not one of the hosts mentioned Bernie at all when it came to talking about the candidates and their position on a particular issue at the time. They mentioned Hillary, Warren and DeBlasio's joint project and all of the Republican clown car candidates, but no Bernie, even though he had already declared his candidacy. One by one, each host that I used to admire and respect seemed to go out of their way not to mention Bernie at all.
Listening to SiriusXM Progress during the day, the only host that mentions him seriously is Thom Hartman, the others downplay Senator Sanders as someone who does not stand a chance, or they ignore him entirely. One host in particular got into it with a caller when they asked both the host and Markos why they weren't taking Bernie seriously. Forget the fact that Bernie stands for a lot of the issues that they themselves have advocated for in the past and quite vocally at that.
It's as though the media are doing to Bernie what they did to Kucinich, but even worse since it seems as though they are ignoring Senator Sanders completely. I guess that the plan is to act as though he is not in the race and, eventually, he and his followers will get discouraged, go away and drop out.
