under the shocking complacency of people who've never had to lift a finger or pay for anything on their own in their lives (they literally don't know how money works), at some abstract level you can get them to agree that the US economy is a goose that lays golden eggs, and killing it for a NASDAQ uptick is (in the abstract) a bad idea
