(71,555 posts)48. We need the Senate but presidential elections are statewide like Senate elections
thus the map holds for both. I don't know if some here have looked at the electoral college map. We are so screwed if we don't bring back the blue wall. We will not be able to win the presidency without it. This is not a 20 issue but will haunt us going forward. Sure we might get Texas, Arizona and Georgia...possibly North Carolina. But when? With the exception of NC (2008), we haven't won any of the other states in decades. I posted an electoral map...go to the website and play around with it. This is our reality.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

So the proven ability to actually increase the youth vote by 500% wouldn't impact downticket races?

Retaking the senate is possible with the right candidate at the head of our ticket.

No kidding. It is easy to promise things, but promise what you can do without the Senate.

Bullock and Hickenlooper are refusing to run as well. Not good. Very disappointed.

If this is the case, nothing much will get done - must take the Presidency to stop further damage

Your post leaves me wondering if you do or do not understand the 2020 Senate map.

It's more favorable in that Repubs must defend more seats than Dems. However ...

Senate reality, much like climate change, should not be denied but you do you.

It is important for the candidates to emphasize the need to be the majority in both House and Senate
