The electorate, at large, is also not as heavily involved in the primary process as we are and may be looking to rally behind someone who they believe is most likely to beat Trump in 2020 as a primary factor. It's pretty hard to argue against Biden in that role.
An uneventful primary would also help us tremendously. We certainly don't need a repeat of 2016.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
