First he would have to get it past a skeptical congress, including Dem representatives from red, heavily pro-gun districts, and Senators like Joe Manchin who also come from a deep red state with high gun ownership.

Then if that miracle happened it would almost certainly get tossed by SCOTUS.

What is the solution to spiraling gun violence? Unfortunately the answer involves 2/3 of congress and 38 states coming together to alter or remove the Second Amendment. Until we can gather those numbers there's not much we can do but try and see if something sticks like the the bump stock ban keeping in mind that a majority of Americans are supportive of gun rights.
