...an incredibly vast engineering challenge, which can only be addressed with massive political support.

This is not here yet, but one should not lose hope that this will change. We can either give up, or do what we can.

In this country we built 100 nuclear reactors in less than 20 years while providing some of the lowest electricity prices in the industrialized world.

Careful consideration of advances in materials science leads me to believe that it may be possible, technically feasible at least, to repeat this success. It's a long shot, but it's possible.
