In reply to the discussion: Open thread. What does Bernie Sanders need to do to reclaim his lead or co-lead? [View all]Hortensis
(58,785 posts)they tend to be doing things not measured by systems designed to give voters an idea of how most legislators are performing. So most are frequently ranked very low on most scoring systems.
GovTrack.us analyzes who cosponsors whose bills to find out who're best at rounding up support to get their agendas turned into law for its "leadership" score, but Pelosi is practically at the bottom. For GovTrack's count of "Laws Enacted," Sanders had 0, but Schumer leading the minority party had only 1 (Klobuchar 7, a number of minority senators achieved 5 and 4).
With Sanders, I can't see any reason for performing so extremely low except self indulgence. He may not like his colleagues, but he could have controlled his behavior well enough that they're not so aware of it and shouldered more of the work, enough to at least rise to average. Most of us would be beyond thrilled at what we could get done as an average senator.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
