That’s way oversimplified but there’s no such thing as “a country” right now. The GOP is willing to sacrifice everyone, particularly those they devalue, to gain and maintain power. We, on the other hand, seem to want so very badly to be the good people that we imagine every misstep to be a felony and ourselves being judged by our reaction. We mean too well. They’re just mean.
