I'd expect the lower ranking players to start dropping out and look for other options in 2020. There will still be time to get a House or Senate run up to speed and I'd love to see more competition for the 20 or so Repubs defending seats next year. Taking the Senate is kind of an important goal we should seek. Also, I'm sure there are some state level jobs that should be winnable for a credentialed Democrat.
