(71,542 posts)busing question fine and it will blow up in Harris face...she is less electable in a general now...so those voters who may have been thinking about taking a chance probably won't. Biden is the one who can win. The other candidates have tacked so far left on a variety of issues that they are un-electable in a general in rust belt states. And we must win those states if we are to win a general. This is not the time for the pure progressive candidate...the country is center left at best and only a Perceived moderate can win. I would have thought the midterms would have been a wake up call...as moderates gave us the house. And with a candidate perceived as 'far left' we could very well lose the House as well as failing to take the presidency and the Senate. Imagine an all powerful Trump. It could happen if we choose the wrong nominee.
The stakes were very high in 16 and look at the wreckage Trump has created. It turns me cold with rage when I think of Stein, Turner and Sarandon Etc...the only thing more catastrophic would be to lose in 20...Ginsberg won't last another term...the GOP would finish packing the lower courts and have a 6-3 majority at the very least...they could end up with a 7-2 also. Thus the only issue I care about is beating Trump...the rest can be sorted out after he is gone...much will depend on if we take the Senate. Oh, we will use EO's Harris opines...yes I heard that. However, the Trump friendly courts will deep six any such attempt. Thus if we win the presidency without the Senate...we must try to win in the midterm...otherwise we play defense and will not get a court pick either. I have never seen things as bad as they are today.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
