(424 posts)He had handlers "teaching" him about physical space. The young woman is right, it is not on her.
Was it enough to end his career? I have already stated that if Franken had done the hard work, then no, he probably would not have needed to step down. But, he didn't do that because his feelings were hurt, per your post, because the senate now thought he was a "sexual predator".
Franken invades space and it is others problems. Franken's feelings are hurt because of his "physical obtuseness" and it is others problems.
I think Franken could easy come back, stating he gets it, and truly gets it. But what I have seen over the last year is allowing himself to be the victim, allowing supporters to blame ONE of the Democratic senators exclusively to the harm of her career because of his actions. And he has not had the guts to stand up and own the behavior and call fans off Gillibrand. That would have me respect the man. Doing the hard stuff. Instead the piece comes off as Franken being the victim in all this. I am good with Franken making a come back. I am tired of the men becoming the victim at the women's expense. Be brave. Be strong. Own it. He is a good Democratic leader and he is a advocate for women and girls. He could easily, rise. But, do it honestly.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
