The "minders" were on the lookout for potentially offensive humor from Franken, not physical contact that people are all of a sudden too precious about.

These minders have NEVER reported a single complaint about mistreatment of women. You're right that a staffer warned him that a friendly kiss to an acquaintance would be interpreted the wrong way—by the zero-tolerance-zero-sense crowd.

Sure, Franken could have stayed, but he would be burning a whole bunch of bridges and become a pariah in the Senate. Not only is he a "sexual predator" but he is also not a team player.

Franken does not owe Gillibrand anything. She called on Franken to resign while announcing a sexual harassment bill that Franken himself has originated and given to Gillibrand to sponsor. And she did that in front of Franken's staff to boot. She is not a good person.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
