I don't know what Joe Biden's campaign is about. [View all]
His candidacy just feels... anti-climactic. Forgive the random analogy, but it reminds me of Brett Favre having the magical season with the '09 Vikings, hemming and hawing about returning, then coming back for a sad, losing 2010 season.
I love Joe Biden to death. He is decent to his core, has fought hard battles, was the perfect partner to Obama, and has overcome deep personal tragedy. And I really think a lot of the attacks on him in the debates are cheap, ticky tack lines to knock down a front runner.
But I don't feel the electricity, and that makes me sad to see at this stage. His website will speak to issues of the middle class, but other candidates are actually speaking to that better on the stump and in the debates. In fact, he's not even the best at criticizing proposals like Medicare For All. Michael Bennet, Pete Buttigieg, and others are far more articulate at describing and advocating for a public option.
I just don't sense a narrative in his campaign other than, "I've been at this a while, so just trust me."
