No, he did not commit to leaving the race before the convention, which is different.
If the same question were asked of any other candidate ("would you quit before the convention if you're not going to win"
, nobody would be aghast at the most obvious answer any politician could give, "I intend to win."
Most if not all the candidates (and certainly Sanders) have already committed to fully supporting whoever is nominated at the convention. The headline here is a muckraking headline to make people think otherwise.
