Democratic Primaries

(2,343 posts)I grew up in southern Arkansas. Every elected county official and area state legislator was a Democrat. My family was friends with a couple of them who had been politicians for years. They were some of the most conservative people you could ever meet. Anytime you heard many of the others speak, it was the same way. Most were pretty conservative. But, to win elections around there, you had to run as a Democrat.
My grandfather, a Baptist deacon who I once heard say that Huckabee was too liberal, was on the county Democratic committee. No way he'd ever be a Republican!
BS is no more a Democrat than the aforementioned politicians or my grandfather.while I dont think BS will win the nomination, he certainly has no chance without a "D" by his name. And I guess the powers that be are OK letting him have a shot.
It's the darndest thing...oh well.
