(28,908 posts)Talking about calls for her to leave the race: "'Historically, that makes no sense, so I find it a bit of a mystery.' 'You don't buy the party unity argument?' she was asked. 'I don't because, again, I've been around long enough. You know my husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.'"
The New York Post reported "'She is still in the presidential race, she said today, because historically it makes no sense to quit, and added that Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June, making an odd comparison between the dead candidate and Barack Obama.' Clinton, of course, had made no such comparison, but the horse had left he barn."
