(32,640 posts)All bills can be opposed by the GOP, but that doesn't make all health care reform bills equally valid or invalid, and doesn't give an excuse for presenting a bill that hasn't actually been thoroughly thought out, and run by actual policy experts to crunch the numbers.
That's like saying, "Well it's my opinion and I'm entitled to my opinion" in response to someoene bringing up facts that refute an opinion. As though it's all just opinion, and therefore all opinions are equally valid.
Or the GOP promising that "defunding Planned Parenthood" will "eliminate abortions," and if we use the money that we give Planned Parenthood to pay for adoptions, then the foster homes will empty out." Even GOP politicians who know better have to say that they oppose funding Planned Parenthood, because it's now dogma, no matter how fallacious.
