(8,148 posts)now that we do need more of a heavy weight to right the ship, if that can even be done. It is never done alone, true. Yet truston the part of our allies, and our enemies in our resolveis crucial. Biden commands respect on the world stage and has established relationships with leaders in many
nations. He is ready day one.
Not saying any Dem cant learn or wont have expert advice. In general, Americans are not concerned nearly enough about national security and global affairs. Dems should be much more aware and concerned. However, because they and the public isnt, I cant argue that his experience and knowledge in these areas makes him more electable.
But to my mind, given obvious dangers, on this score, the global rather than domestic, Biden is far more qualified to lead a superpower among superpowers, to get Iran back to the table, to deal with NK, China, Russia, and perhaps avert a crisis between India and Pakistan, to tackle fail-out from failed policies in Central America which have contributed to the humanitarian crisis at our borders...these pressing issues for starters.
I dont see any other candidate coming close to being qualified to conduct foreign policy while at the same time, according to experts, we are closer to a nuclear conflict than at any other time in history.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
