Democratic Primaries

(37 posts)I have already seen traces of Biden supporters saying that Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada don't matter for various reasons and the race REALLY begins in South Carolina. However, IF Warren wins Iowa and then goes on to win New Hampshire, it shatters Joe's whole electability argument. Much like happened in 2008, Clinton was up double digits in South Carolina UNTIL Obama won Iowa, then she fell and never recovered. She was no longer inevitable and people felt more free to vote their conscience.
Further.. I don't understand this concept of Biden as the one who can win.
It really seems like almost ANYONE can beat Trump EXCEPT for Biden, who will not inspire turnout.
Trump is wildly unpopular, but his base will show up anyway. But, people will still need a reason to vote other than "Not Trump" if you are asking them to spend hours in line, take a day off work or whatever other hurdles they have to jump. Not enough people are going to do that for Biden.. his record doesn't support that type of devotion. His plans won't inspire people to show up. Seriously, what's the message? "Nominate me so we can go back to the way things were, you remember, when you didn't show up to vote before?"
Warren, Sanders.. THEY will inspire people to stand in line because you can look at their plans and see tangible reasons to stand in line. Student debt cancellation alone will bring out MILLIONS of voters who will happily spend the day waiting to vote. Medicare for All, highly popular.. again, something people will be willing to stand in line for.
You want to risk this GIFT of an election? Promise people incrementalism and more of what they decided to stay home from in 2016.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
