I once cut my thumb when I let my skill saw slip. It was a deep cut to the bone. Being the tough guy I thought I was at the time I decided to forego stitches. The cut did heal eventually without any permanent damage, but if I had chosen to get stitches there is no doubt the cut would have healed much faster and would have left less of a scar than it did. I realize now that by not having the cut treated and stitches put in there was a higher chance of infection and permanent damage. Luckily for me it all turned out okay in the end.
Point being, Bernie may have been fine treating his cut at home. It was a chance he was not willing to take as far as infection or a longer healing period. Sometimes there is no there there.
On edit: I was around 45 years old and worked 60 hours a week on a construction crew. Now at the ripe old age I'm 66, had this accident occurred, it would be a pretty fast trip to the emergency room for stitches and treatment.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
