(58,785 posts)including as the permanently minority Democratic caucus's leader for a while. Then she ran for governor and became famous for being the object of blatant election theft. That's not exactly the same as being governor and bringing that experience with her. She's a famous black woman, but to me that seems to be a very slim resume for someone who'd not only have to play a significant role in winning the election but be first in succession to a president in his 70s.
Plus, Biden wants the same kind of relationship he and Obama had. He and Stacey may like what they've seen of each other briefly, but they aren't old friends and they've never worked together. To my mind there's just no reason to zero on her and ignore all of the many other names that might be on his private short list.
Btw, something like 10% of GA's black men who voted for Obama did not vote for Stacey to become GA's first black governor. Whatever their individual thinking, as a group the effect was to choose for a white male Republican enemy as their governor over a black liberal Democratic woman.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
