(7,947 posts)The Republican candidate was a white nationalist and ran about 15 points better in the rural part of NC-09 than did Harris in Nov. 18. The Democrat ran about 5 points stronger in the college educated suburbs than in Nov 18. Even with that the white nationalist still ran 10 points worse than Trump in 16 and Romney in 12. It looks to me like the losses were greater than the gains for the white nationalist.
I am also not sure why all of the Democrats except Biden is deemed "risky". Let the voters decide. I am far more optimistic about our slate of candidates because the demographics strongly favor all of our top candidates. I will be fine with any of them, including Biden, even though he is not my top choice.
I also think there are a lot of serious red flags on the economy and by spring we could be mired in a recession so Trump is self-destructing. That hasn't been factored in at all.
