(10,933 posts)His main message was that he would work with Republicans and Democrats- and he always put Republicans first in that comment. He did everything he could to appeal to centrists and conservatives, and he never staked out any positions. He avoided calling himself a Democrat. His freakin ads were useless; the Repubs were calling him Dan McGreedy and accusing him of being what they are, but he did not really fight back against them. Is it any wonder he lost? His loss is about a wasted chance for a democratic house gain that was squandered by a milquetoast of a candidate It was not a message to democrats about the presidential race, not in the way you seem to want it to be.
I'm just glad that I don't have to hear to that stupid freakin McGreedy jingle anymore.
