As soon as you see someone claim mainstream Democrats are centrists, which is wildly wrong, you know that somebodys either misunderstanding, or far more likely in his case deliberately misrepresenting, and often both.
However, mainstream liberals are very big on finding ways to work with people of different viewpoints because thats how representative government of, by, and for the people HAS to work.
That is not the same as a centrist ideology blurring differences. And examination of liberal ideology these days, voter and legislative records, shows that there are very few people who could be called centrists.
Thats actually one of our nations significant problems. But liberals cant go meet conservatives of these days on a lot of issues, theyve become too extremist.
