Let's say heathcare is apples. In every city, town and small community, people have access to several apple vendors. Knowing that there is market, several apple growers spend money to innovate newer and better tasting apples.
However, there are some people who can't afford apples and some of them are given government assistance to buy a few apples.
Then suddenly, the government decides this is not acceptable and takes over the apple distribution. It mandates that all apples must be sold at a fixed cheap price. This cuts into the profits of apple vendors and many cannot stay in business. The result is that only a few large vendors remain and people have to drive long distances and stand in lines to get the apples.
Apple growers also stop innovating and coming up with better apples. They stick to growing the cheap apples that will allow them to still make a profit.
So, the whole population gets one or two kinds of cheap apples which are not conveniently available near them and they have to stand in long lines to purchase them.
How does it benefit people? It only gives satisfaction to those who are angry and resentful of apple growers and sellers making a profit.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
