(4,955 posts)and once the Democratic Party stops being useful to him he will shed it like he did after Vermont's primaries.
Trump used the Republican Party in the same way. He never believed in its ideals (other than lower taxes). But smaller government (his is only smaller because a. he is lazy and b. people keep quitting on him)-- he wants to expand it -- The Space Force?
So I don't see Bernie as a Democrat. I see him as a person who needs a party to run for President. I see him as a political celebrity and that he has a lot of fans. Unfortunately, when you criticize a celebrity, their fans descend upon you and make very hostile accusations, call you names and encourage others to do the same.
It is really hard to get off that celebrity train and that is why, I suspect that he did not retire his campaign right after Super Tuesday in 2016.
I like the guy. I think he has interesting ideas and is passionate for the working man. However he is not the candidate for me. My vote is going to someone who is not a populist.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
