There has never been perfect legislation passed in any country in the world
The 1994 crime bill has some good elements. Protections for abuse victims was great. Crime was higher that needed to be addressed.
However the 1994 crime bill locked a lot of non violent drug offenders up and contributed to the mass incarceration problem.
What Sanders is doing now is trying to rewrite history by showing a speech of him railing against the bill while voting for it anyway. A bit disingenuous if you ask me.
