(2,461 posts)If you want a big tent - if you want to win - you need someone who can excite the people that feel so disenfranchised that they don't show up to vote. Running to the middle is running right up to the republicans - there is no room there. Its not just left/right. Its the millions that feel their vote doesn't matter - that no political decision will affect their lives.
I think its a great move. Nina sure can get people up on their feet! And if you don't believe that, then you can't possibly believe she got people to reject the Democrats in any meaningful way.
She's working for a Democratic nominee. That should be good news.
Edit - How will you get the Dem-exiters back? You need someone to get them to register. Some reason. Yes, she will be appealing to the people who could see their lives improved by progressive policies - on bothe the left and right. I don't think you have to worry about her getting 3rd way voters to re-register as they most likely didn't leave. Not a judgement call. Just the way the chips landed last time.
Get rid of Trump - by any means - but bonus points if things can improve. With an informed and motivated base.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
