"ideologically bankrupt" or "feeble" is the kind of "eating our young" thinking that sews divisiveness and makes us look strident and incompetent to govern. To be honest, it's what I fear most from the Bernie or bust diehards. It's why I'm reluctant to sign on to the Bernie train.
Yes, he pushed the discussion to the left in 2016, and for that I'm grateful. But he isn't the only progressive candidate, and possibly not the most electable. Let's get a sense of where the general population stands before we start circling our wagons. We can't afford to blow this one.
