What an opportunity. You were apart of history. I went to BO's announcement speech here in Springfield at the Old State Capitol building. I used to work at the bank across the street. As I was arriving I heard George Clooney speaking.
My knees about buckled.
I think they were expecting around 5,000 people to show up and it ended up being over 25,000! I stood on a sidewalk on the east side of the plaza. I ended up leaving before he actually appeared. I regret it but I wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway and it was just too cold for me.
At least I bought two campaign buttons while was there, so I have souvenirs. I ended up watching it at home with my fuzzy slippers on and a large mug of hot cocoa.
As a bonus here's when he was back in Springfield to announce Joe Biden as his running mate. I wasn't able to go to that one but my next door neighbor did. He said it was so hot some people were fainting.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
