It usually seems to be used to define conditions that exist but that we don't like. But the dictionary definition is neutral: it's "the existing state of affairs, especially regarding social or political issues." The currently-existing state of affairs is Trump and Trumpitude and Trumpism, which I don't think any of us like; I really don't think Biden is defending anything Trumpic. So what is the existing state of affairs that he is allegedly defending "frantically"? If you ask me, "status quo" is just another one of those vague buzzwords that can be given a negative meaning which the word itself does not carry, and is then deployed disingenuously as a criticism. The status quo may or may not be a bad thing so one has to define it so we know what it is they are objecting to.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
