In reply to the discussion: Andrew Yang Claims His Friends in Media Wanted to "Kneecap" Bernie Sanders [View all]sheshe2
(83,746 posts)46. Well fact is.
There were never enough votes for single payer under Obama. Never. The President, on election night was cast aside in a private head to head meeting of Repukes led by Mitchie. They vowed to make him a one term President.
As for single payer...some history. Vermont and California tried and failed. To expensive. Taxes would skyrocket. Obama tried, never enough votes. Even BS admitted that in the end.
Now I know President Obama wasn't in the Congress but I do believe he could have used great influence in at least getting single payer advocates (actual health workers) a seat at the table for the discussions.
BS has far more time in office as Mayor, congressman and Senator...oh and Presidential Candidate times two...perhaps
he could have used great influence in at least getting single payer advocates (actual health workers) a seat at the table for the discussions.
At least in his own state when they were trying to pass single payer.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

I can't believe we still have to fight this "Obama didn't want the public option" thing.
