No, it was about something Sanders said in 2012. The only thing that makes it about 2020 is that Sanders is running for the 2020 nomination. That would be like saying Harris' busing attack on Biden was about the 2020 election. Well, yeah, insofar as Biden is running for the 2020 nomination, but it was about something Biden said in the 1970s, not about anything he's said or any position he's taken during the campaign, or anything relevant to the way he would govern if elected.

I think both are cheap attacks in that they (a) are historical events that are not relevant to any part of their platform or indicative of how they would govern, and (b) imply something untrue (i.e. that Biden has a history of siding with people who opposed school integration, or that Sanders wanted someone to replace Obama on the ticket).

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
