34. WTF is the Mayor of a city supposed to do when a "less-than perfect"...

organization has a charity kickoff in his town? Yeah, poke fun at him a little, but to make it a real problem?

I'm no big fan of the Salvation Army, but they do do good things and should not be defined by their private beliefs on controversial issues that do not control their public actions. Do we condemn and ban Catholic Charities because we don't like some of their views? And some of their views affect us a lot more than SA's do, and are worth condemning that church for, but we don't shut down their food kitchens to punish them.

And just what organization is out there that is "created to cater to the needs of queer people" that would take precedence over an organization dedicated to feeding, housing, and providing health benefits to all people.

FWIW, looking into SA's history, it does not deny services or accept discrimination against anyone based on sexual identity. It does insist on celibacy outside of marriage, and won't marry gay couples, but otherwise leaves it alone. Sound familiar? A lot of religions, including non-Christian ones, think that way and the world has survived.

And, btw, Out magazine itself hasn't exactly had a sterling history of supporting LGBT,etc concerns itself.
