(39,138 posts)27. "Fracking is absolutely devastating wherever it exists" I live in Belmont
county Ohio. Belmont county has 646 horizontal wells in progress or producing, the most in the entire state.
So far the only adverse results I have seen is property values and rental rates have increased making it hard for
low income people to find housing. A multi billion dollar cracker plant will probably soon start construction. They say it will
provide around 10000 construction jobs over the next 5 years or more and several hundred permanent operating jobs.
It will also create thousands of spin off jobs in the area. What is devastating about that?
