the first who comes to mind is the tRumpster Fire. I think you're right about Beto... had the same impression as you, even before reading the article you linked to, as demonstrated by the self-deprecating joke he told about his being an absentee father. Not sure why Beto felt the need to apologize for it, but, it wasn't necessarily bad to do so.
