In reply to the discussion: Why Did Bernie Sanders Endorse the Extremely Gross Sexist Cenk Uygur [View all]NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)Not denouncing it was another misstep. Taking the easy way out reveals much. A candidate who takes the path of least resistance--rather than making difficult choices--reveals much about what kind of leader they'd be.
I believe that this will hurt Bernie in the long run. As the in-depth vetting of Cenk progresses, more disgusting information will be revealed and discussed.
People will learn more about Cenk and will wonder one of two things: 1) Does Bernie actually approve of or admire him? And what does this tell us about Bernie's ethics and priorities? 2) Why didn't Bernie take the time to do some basic research and minimal vetting of his own before staking his own reputation on someone like Cenk?
There are NO answers to those to questions that reflect well on Bernie. It's very likely that Bernie will regret making this decision.
All I'm saying is that Bernie Sanders has made a GRAVE mistake. At this point, it's NOT ENOUGH to withdraw an endorsement that Cenk himself doesn't value or want anyway.
In order to restore whatever reputation he hopes to retain, BS needs to speak out strongly against Cenk and the disgusting, sickening, nauseating, and perverted things that were said.
We're waiting, Bernie. We're waiting.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
