(14,565 posts)That opinion has nothing to do with my support of Beto. I did not follow the 2016 primary at all for two reasons: I thought Hillary was a cinch to get the nomination, and I thought a self-avowed socialist was a cinch to be ruthlessly picked apart toward defeat if he somehow managed the nomination.
It would be worse than any projection. So much fear out there. So many old videos. The turnout and passion argument is garbage. We were shoveled the same thing regarding Andrew Gillum here in Florida. Gillum wasn't anywhere close to as vulnerable as Sanders on ideology yet still had 46% of the Florida electorate saying Gillum was too liberal for the state. Translate that to a presidential race and we'll lose states we thought were a cinch.
Elections are won on preference, not turnout. Bernie Sanders would cost us too much in raw preference.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
