(4,387 posts)Is this supposed to be surprising? For those who knee-jerk to anger every time he speaks, I thought we weren't supposed to do things that have no chance of becoming law? Remember last time when everything Sanders said was painted as "ponies" because OBVIOUSLY if it can't get signed by the president why even talk about it?
Anyway, Trump and his administration are, at this very moment, trying to destroy the ACA through the courts. If that happens it won't be because Bernie did not supporting a bill that won't make it past the senate. It will be incumbent on every Democrat to meet the Republicans with big plans to draw the biggest difference between the two groups here.
Tell you what, put the person who wants to go the furthest on healthcare in the White House and give them a Democratic senate and we can do all these things. Incrementalism...whatever...that time has passed on several fronts. Healthcare being just one of them. Medicare for All or at least a buy-in option for everyone regardless of age is where I'm at at this point.
