(2,657 posts)1. Every four years someone is elected President. Sometimes that person is actually re-elected, president. When a new president is elected, their new administration has a ton of jobs to fill. Some of the people that they hire will be very qualified for their positions. Some of them will be technically unqualified for their positions. When each person is done with their jobs, here is what matters to me most.
1. Did the person do a least an OK job?
2. Did the person not do anything immoral or unethical?
3. Did the person not break any laws?
4. Did the people who worked for him do an OK job, not do anything illegal and immoral, and did those people not break any laws?
If the answer to all four questions is yes, I really don't much care whether or not anyone felt that they were qualified or unqualified for their positions. Her's a couple more questions:
--Was Rex Tillerson qualified to be Secretary of State? Hell no.
--Was Rick Perry qualified to lead the Department of Energy Hell no.
Here's the difference. If Rex Tillerson did an OK job, did not do anything immoral or unethical, and did not break any laws while he was Secretary of State, I am not particularly worried about him. Rick Perry, on the other hand, seems to have been deeply involved in Donald Trump's little "drug deal" regarding Ukraine and Joe Biden. I have a huge problem with that.
When Hunter Biden was offered a job with some gas company in Ukraine and then accepted that job, in some respects he may have been unqualified to lead that company, but I have seen no indication that either he, or any of the people who worked for him, did anything illegal, immoral, or unethical. In addition, since the gas industry in Ukraine seems to have had a problem with corruption recently, perhaps more than anything else, what a gas company in Ukraine really needed was a lawyer running it--somebody who understood the law and somebody from outside the country--because that somebody would have no possible connections to any corrupt Ukrainians inside the country.
Until somebody can show me something wrong that Hunter Biden did when leading some gas company in Ukraine--Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
