(3 posts)Bernie supports DEMOCRATIC Socialism. There is a big difference between Socialism and Democratic Socialism, that is why Bernie gave the speech.
But in reality, Socialism has lost its sting. 70% of Millennial voters would vote for a Socialist, and we have all seen the myriad articles touting the fact that for the non-boomer generations, Socialism is more popular than Capitalism.
So let the Right bark on about Socialism, let them rave about hammers and sickles. They have been doing that about EVERY Democratic candidate that has run since 1948. Obama was vilified by the Tea Party as a combination of Mao, Stalin and Hitler and he still won 2 terms.
The fact is that the ONLY damage done to Bernie with the "Socialism" attack line was a case of friendly fire leveled repeatedly by Claire McCaskill, who, having barely squeaked out one victory only to be trounced in the following election, nonetheless thinks she is entitled to tell us about what people in the Midwest want.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
