(58,785 posts)because it IS a big tent full of people giving to get is revealing. As you say, way too big. Way too much diversity of ideas and goals, way too many different factions working together to achieve common goals for HER little faction to have its own way.
So Ocasio imagines that in another nation she'd belong to a small, narrowly ideological party instead of a big, wonderfully inclusive and cooperative major party. Yes, but that's not exactly a profound insight.
She doesn't question the virtue of pursuing a narrow ideology that leads her to despise the cooperation and respect for the wishes and needs of others required for democracy to work. Nor does she question the utility of trying to achieve lofty goals as a relatively powerless outlier, of course constantly doing battle with the party that has the power she needs.
Now look at Warren. She wants to make change happen, not waste herself opposing power. So she joined and works with the huge powerful, diverse Democratic Party. Which to my mind is as admirably competent as insistence on opposing from a position of weakness is dysfunctional.
