Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Warren supporters need to know that their vote for Warren could wind up being a vote for Bernie. [View all]Algernon Moncrieff
(5,961 posts)Connor Lamb and AOC are both real Democrats. That's just how we are rolling these days. Of course, the party of Hubert Humphry was also the party of George Wallace. Go figure?
We've already gone down this road enough: HRC was a Goldwater girl; Warren was an HW Bush Republican; Sanders is/was I-VT; Yang & Steyer are Billionaires; Bloomberg is a Billionaire who ran for NYC mayor as a Republican. Mayor Pete's qualification is Mayor of a small Midwestern town. Amy Klobuchar has a reputation as the world's worst boss. Biden is far from perfect: he's a gaffe machine who is generally too touchy-feely and got nailed three decades ago for plagiarism. Yet all of these candidates, and their respective supporters here at DU, agree that we need a more just and equitable society with a focus on affordable healthcare and taxing the wealthy. Bernie Sanders isn't the enemy; Elizabeth Warren isn't the enemy; Andrew Yang and Tom Steyer aren't the enemies, and Joe Biden isn't the enemy. Our enemies are Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Devin Nunes, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Jim Jordan, and a host of others dedicated to the proposition that corporate wealth, gun rights, and theocracy are what America is about.
Fighting battles leftover from 2016 is just stupid
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
