(3,855 posts)Because trump actually talked to them. These guys felt abandoned by the Democratic party. They felt abaonded by an economy that had passed them by. But Trump least spoke to them.
We can argue whether trump ever meant anything he said. Ok, we cant' argue that. He clearly didn't.
But I am thinking if fake empathy can work, maybe actual empathy can work even better.
I certainly think that has a better chance of getting rid of trump then putting in a centrist with no big ideas and a sense of entitlement that they are owed the vote.
At the very least I know all those centrists who have attacked Sanders (often for very silly things, like making 2 million from writing books someho puts him on the same level as a Jeff bezos) wil lbe parroting his policies as common sense in a few years.
